| Grandma's Recipe for Holy Ham Loaf
with Marvelous Mustard Sauce
Ham Loaf
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 can (14 ounce) crushed pineapple - well drained
1 lb. lean ground ham
1 lb. lean ground pork
1 cup bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs - beaten
1 cup milk
The Sauce
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons dry mustard
2/3 cup vinegar
2 eggs - beaten
Line a loaf pan with foil. Mix brown sugar and pineapple together and pour in pan. Combine ham, pork, bread crumbs, pepper, eggs and milk. Press down onto pineapple in pan. Bake at 375 for 1-1/4 hours. While loaf is baking, combine all ingredients for sauce. Cook slowly until thickened. Invert ham loaf onto platter and serve with mustard sauce. Freezes well --- serves 6. |
