| Hi. I have used a recipe very similiar to your play dough recipe for years with my daycare and my own kids. It's great and lasts for several monthes. I thought I would share a gift idea that I've done many times for kids with the playdough. After making several batches of different colored dough I give them as gifts. I take empty Nestle quick containers and cut paper to fit around them I then Decorate them with stamps, stickers, whatever the child likes. I usually personalize them too. I decorate 2 containers. In one I put 3-4 batches of playdough in quartsize bags. The other one I fill with tools to use with the playdough. I've used plastic pizza cutters, mini rolling pins and cookie cutters. Alot of these tools I bought in bulk through a co. called Discount School Supply. They were very inexpensive this way. also around the holidays you can find cookie cutters cheaply. I usually purchase a vinyl placemat to include in the gift also for the kids to play with their dough on. These gifts have been a big hit and were very inexpensive to do. Another way to save money is to buy the cream of tartar in bulk. I bought mine through a mail order herbal co. Sorry I don't know the name, a friend did the ordering but it was much less than the little jars you buy in the supermarket and you can make lots of Playdough. Happy Crafting Oh, I forgot to add, I use a spray adhesive to attach the new lables to the containers and then cover them with clear contact paper. That's all Folks! |
