Baking soda is the easiest and is usually something everyone has around. Just make a thick paste of soda and water and rub it on your silver either with your finger, an old tooth brush or a soft cloth. The toothbrush works best if there is any filigree involved.

Be very careful useing the toothpaste and baking soda with a tooth brush!!You may do more damage over time!!

I use only proper cleaners for both!! I have a cloth or dip for jewellery depending on what jewellery I am cleaning, as for larger items use non abrasive liquids as they will likely have a copper base and can only take so much rubbing before it starts to come through!!

I will have to check out the green way!!LOL

No matter if you use toothpaste of baking soda, just be careful of whatever stone or gem you might have in the jewelry. I have opals & they are easily ruined.
