'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

I would say yes, actually He should never have been in there because I think state and church should be seperated. Secondly: the US has so many other religions just one God in the pledge seems a bit meagre. Besides that, we don't have such a thing so I'm not used to it and I'm not comfortable with pledging a "greater good" and promising I will be loyal to it even if it does something I totaly disagree with , just because I pledged to it.
This country was based on God and religion. He should not be taken out of anything. He should be left in schools, the pledge of allegiance, on our currency etc...

I am an enrolled member of a Federally recognized tribe. Yes most Natives believe that God has a place in everything. We don't always call him God (Creator etc...) but it's all the same superior being.
Religion is a huge part of our culture. Whether they attend Seven Drum, Shaker, Pentecostal, Catholic churches etc...is up to that individual person.
I read some where that only 8% of Americans don't believe in God. Why should the other 92% give in and let them have their way when the majority believes in him?
I have learned (from watching my 5 kids) that the one who screams the loudest gets their way first just so the rest can shut them up and get on with what they're supposed to be doing. It'll be really sad if our country sinks to that kind of behavior.
I also am part Native American. All Native Americans believe God belongs in our lifes, though he may be called Creator, Allah and so on. All religions believe there is only one God. And all religions believe he belongs in our lives. There are many religions in American and all are practiced in peace.
Our founding fathers based our country on God and freedom of religion.
We Americans do not ask people who live in other countries to say our Pledge of Allegiance. But if you decide to live here, then you should expect to obey our laws and be honorable and be for our country. Though you are still able to practice your own religion, and teach your cultures to your children.
If you do not live here, please don't run any of us down as we do not run any of your people down.
