Had this happen to me this morning:
Got a message about an item...well no item was listed and they wanted to know the shipping charge etc. Well when I tried to respond, the browser didn't recognize my user name and password as being saved. I got a little suspicious, so I brought up another browser and logged into e-bay, checked my messages inbox and that message was not in there!
So I forwarded the message to
spoof@ebay.com and sure enough it was a spoof trying to get my info.
So I'd say, if you get a question from a "member" to bring up another browser and check to see if it's in your inbox at e-bay! If it is in there, it's a legit question from a member, even if it is a dumb one! (sorry had someone ask some questions, that if they had just read the description would have been answered! But that's a pet peeve for another gripe session! )
Just be careful out there, and I can't stress it enough as one who's account was hi-jacked and used to do a fraudulent sale!!!!
