I agree you should go for a white kitchen aid mixer. That's what I have too. A chrome toaster would go with that. Or maybe black. If you couldn't find a white one. I love my electric grill. It makes good pork chops, steaks, hamburgers. And they are not greasy.

You definitely need a stainless steel strainer, I couldn't live without mine.

Hi! On setting up a new kitchen, this time of year I couldnt live without my crockpots, 6 qt, 3 1/2 qt somehow have two of them, 1 qt (it came with the 6 qt one) and the little 16 oz one. Also could not live without my Food steamer/rice cooker. Also could not live without my toaster oven, it is big enough for a 9*9 pan. We got it when the oven went out where we were living at the time and the people that owned the house refused to replace the stove. Due to the 100 degree temperatures here, cooking with mostly small appliances to keep from also cooking the human.

I love my mini food processor since I don't have room for a big one. Also my Kitchenaid mixer is wonderful since I love to bake. I also have a hand mixer that was only $10.00 but comes in handy for small mixes.

Unlike you all I hate small appliances!!! I have a small hand mixer that goes nicely in a drawer, All I have on my counter is a toaster and a coffee machine and I tried to talk DH out of that, but he won!!LOL

The only small appliance I do love is my crockpot!!!!!! , but it goes away as soon as possible!!!

I think this all stems to my mother and all her small appliances, (she has everything)she even has a Hot Diggidy Dogger an appliance that toasts your hot dog bun and cooks a dog all at the same time.!!!LOL!!!

I have a stove top kettle, and good set of pots and pans, a good set of fry pans and a fry pan wok, which I love!! I have a good set of banking pans and mixing bowls, I have a very good food processor that I never thing to use!!!

I agree that a good set of utensils is key, not the $ store stuff, although I wooden spoons are all the same!!LOL

We just built a new house so I have the kitchen of my dreams and so far have only bought one new thing and that was a good metal food strainer!!LOL

I like to keep it simple in the kitchen!!!

Enjoy your new stuff!!

I have to say my most used and favorites in my kitchen are my electric roaster(I can take outside on hot days and cook a roast or turkey, my electric frying pan which is a huge one only use in the summer now that I got the new stove, and my most fav and can't live without I would have to say is my crock pot. I also have a small meat slicer which is use often especially for roasts, cheese and onions(homemade onion rings yummy)

I have two mixers one is a stand mixer and then the hand held, I am holding out for a kitchen aid. I would like a blender for smoothies. I do have a stick blend that I love as well for the small jobs.

Smiles n hugs
Leah
