It's probably just me, but I prefer to only have up to 2 sets of dishes per family member in the cabinets, and keep a bigger set in the china hutch for special occasions and guests. (By "set" I mean a plate, a glass, fork-spoon-knife, etc... up to 2 per person) Limiting the number of dishes that are available for use helps keep kitchen clutter down in my house. Especially since I have 2 "automatic" dishwashers I can run at the same time: the left hand, and the right hand

If I had a whole cabinet stacked with lots of dishes, I'd probly feel like I'd never get the kitchen work done, washing so many dishes all the time.
