Thanks for the url! Great info :)

On a side note - if you have tile floors don't use vinegar to clean them because it will break down the grout. I learned this the hard way and then I found the info online. I remember the site said that the water to vinegar ratio had to be "just right" as to not cause damage but in all it was suggesting to avoid using vinegar on tile/grout.

Here's my favorite cleanser recipe, gets my stove, sink, tub and commode all nice and spick and span!

1&2/3 c baking soda

½ c liquid soap (not dish detergent)

½ c water (distilled is best, or leave tapwater sit out for a few hours)

2T vinegar (add last)

the liquid soap I personally use is Dr. Bronner's. it's not cheap, but even a small bottle goes a long way.

unfortunately, this recipe doesn't keep well, and I have a tiny apartment, lol, so I usually make 1/2 the recipe. the only thing hard to halve is the baking soda, and it turns out to be 2/3 cup plus 4 tablespoons.

I tried it and I'll never go back to the commercial scrub liquid!

Smile Simple Green
Old 02-10-2008, 02:43 AM   #5 (permalink)

I always used Simple Green that you could buy anywhere... it was safe for pets and kids and didn't make me sick (as most other cleaners did).

But now you can't find it very much! :(

Just wanted to share... if you see it, try it!!
