Default A thought from this past month
Old 01-31-2007, 06:51 PM   #1 (permalink)

During this past month there have been several things that I have been thinking about and pondering~so I have waited until now to share them........

The other day my oldest daughter was putting something in the china buffet and asked why we don't use the nice china for regular meals. That really got me to thinking~Well first off we don't eat at home a whole lot, secondly it is much easier to use the Corell wear that is in the cabinet and 3rd WOW~that makes sense...why don't we used the nice china!

Why is it that we have things in our homes that we want to hold on to for the perfect time to use it? Like that china for example! I have 2 sets of china in my home~the first set is what my parents gave me when we were married. It is beautiful! I can actually say that I havn't EVER ate a meal off of that china. (the pattern is called Eternal Love)~then I have the 2nd set that she gave me when I started hosting the Thanksgiving dinners at my home. There was a 12 placesetting set and thru out the years I have added other pieces to it so that now I have the complete set.

What is the point of having this beautiful china if it is never used??

I have 2 sets of BEAUTIFUL chrystal stem wear sets that we never use?? Why even have it~

Ok maybe you don't have china maybe you have jewelry that you are too afraid to wear because you might lose it? Why have it??

I have a nice leather jacket that I hardly ever wear~why have it!

When my Mom was alive we went to a place that handcarved candles~I have 3 pretty carved candles that are losing thier luster because I haven't burned them~why have them?

Remember when you were a child and you got a chocolate bunny for Easter~if you were like me you might have ate a little off the ear but you put the rest in the fridge/freezer for later. Later never came and that bunny ended up in the trash!

How about that special bottle of perfume?? I have found if you don't use it~it starts to stink! Perfume is only designed to last a certain amount of time~not forever!

Anyone have special undergarments?? What are you waiting for~use them! Make today a special day!

So many things in my life have been wasted because I didn't want to use them up~

Don't let the moths get more use from your clothes then you do!!

Don't let the china gather dust ~use it!

Burn the candles ~eat the chocolate!

There is no better perfect time then today!

Things will never be perfect!

Today is a GIFT ~ that is why it is called the PRESENT!

As I write this I am buring one of the hand carved candles I bought with my Mom~I will take steps to make everyday the PERFECT day!

Make today the PERFECT DAY!

mgf~

I do try to live this all the time!

I also ask myself regularly "if I were to die tomorrow, what would I wish I had done differently" and I try (where possible) to live so that I have few regrets (I obviously need to continue doing things like my laundry!

I can truly and honestly say............

I HAVE NEVER SAVED MY CHOCOLATE BUNNY FOR LATER!!!!!!
Do the words save and chocolate even fit in the same sentence??

As for the rest of it.........

Yeah, I can soooooooo relate. How about those size 10 jeans that you just can't seem to part with because you might just lose enough weight to get back into them someday. HA!

You better SAVE me some chocolate, if you know what's good for ya!..... I think that's the only way you can legally use those 2 words in a sentence, lol!

And who used to fit into a size 10 jeans? I'm still saving my 16's, hoping to lose weight and get back into them while they're still retro.

I can honestly sy that I still have cookies AND chocolate left still from Christmas!!!

You guys are too funny!

I think the only way we should ave our size (fill in blank) jeans is if we hang them on the wall to inspire us!

(Is this a good time to say that I still fit in my prepregnancy jeans? ... I just fill them out differently

Saving Chocoatet never!!!!Nope not me!! Anyrhing like that around me doesn't last!!

As for the rest, just move and these things are a constant when you pack it up!!

We have beautiful china dn silver ware that G had never seen!!LOL!! He said in the new house he wants to use the china on a daily , and at first I say NO!!! But after a couple days I say why not!! I wasn't the very best we could have picked at the time, and we are not hard on dishes, so we just might!!

We use out corell daily now, but we also have the kids over regularly too!!

I use stuff pretty good!! I do have old perfum, but G was just buying it too oftena and with the no perfum rules around here I stopped wearing it all the time!!

G will buy a pair of shoes and save them and it drives me nuts!!! I don't get that!! Runners boots, what ever!! Why buy them if they are just going to sit there???

No don't talk about craft suplies cause that doesn't count!!!

I think I already posted about spraying the inside toilet paper roll with your old perfums, I saved mine for that cause I had about 6 bottles Ican't wear casue they are too old!!

Grant and I also clean out our house every year and pack it up for Grage sale or charrity shops!!

One of these days I start a thread of what I learned while packing up this house!!LOL!!

Great thread MGF!!

I have never had a good set of china I have had dishes only and many different sets. My first set was Melmac and I used them for several years. I now have 3 sets of dishes but the Corelle is my favorite because it is lightweight and break resistant. I say why don't you gals use your good china say 1 day a week like Sunday dinner. It will give your kids memories when they inherit them. Just a thought
