Default DAY 2: Use a timer
Old 01-03-2007, 12:18 AM   #1 (permalink)

Do you find it difficult to stay focused when you are trying to clean?? I know I do!! I might start off working in the kitchen then I find something that should go somewhere else~so I take it there and then I find something to take care of there....this is my pattern! I might spend an hour cleaning but only accomplish a few things!

Next time you are going to clean get you a kitchen timer or if you don't have one use the one on the stove. Set it for a specific amount of time: 15 minutes is a good start. Decide where you are going to clean/work then set the timer and HIT IT!!! When the timer goes off you will be able to see your accomplishment!

During this time the items that you are finding that don't belong in that specific place put in a laundry basket/box/storage bin. Then once you are finished seperate the items in your box and take care of those items.

Try this out and see if you don't stay more focused!

b]Me and the boys all grab a laundry basket and work on one room together. We don't set a timer, but the baskets come in handy! One of us goes around gathering dirty laundry. One gathers toys, and the last one just gathers everything else. Ezra is starting to help out and he usually gets the task of putting away the dvd's he has pulled off of the shelves.

Maybe tomorrow we will try the timer and make it a race to see if we can finish in like 15-20 minutes!
