| If you cut your finger would you be able to locate alcohol, antibiotic ointment and band-aids??
How about you have a cold~Can you find a cold medication?? Will it be expired??
Do you seem to collect medications in your home??
Neglecting to organize this part of your life can be very dangerous! People need to take stock of their medication, organize it, and make a list of items that are needed.
SORT
Empty your cabinet.
Old prescription medications should be thrown out ( items such as antibiotics ) ~ this doesn't include items such as allergy medication or medication you take for chronic problems. DO NOT flush them down the toilet!
Check all expiration dates. If it is expired ~ trash it!
If it is over a year old~trash it.
If it don't have a label~trash it.
ORGANIZE
For those in the family that take daily medication: put them all together. (At my house we each have a special plastic bin that hold our medication with our name on it)
Keep all medication in their original containers.
Keep all medication out of the reach of children!
Here is a list of items in a well stocked first aid kit!
