| I saw this very question on another site and it really got me to thinking about my clutter~
I mean lots of the things that I would take I doubt if I could even find. That is really sad!
Anyone else have thoughts about this topic?

| Well for me the only thing I would do is make sure everyone was out and I would want to grab my purse!!I have replaced my ID so many times and it's a hassel!!
There is nothing else worth risking my life for not even pictures cause you can't take away my memories!!
Everything else can be replaced!!! | | | | | Super Moderator Level up: 40%, 89 Points needed |

| I think a better way to consider that is "if you had 10 minutes to save things from your house - what would they be?"
I have thought about it, and besides Slidette and the 4 leggeds, photographs, and a box of "memories" for Slidette. I have a box with little "souveniers" on the wall unit - birth annoucemnets etc.
Next would be a few pieces of jewelerry from my mother and grandmother - nothing worth much (the only one that would be is moms wedding rings and they are kept in a safety deposit box) just things I want to pass on | | | | | Senior Member Points: 14,970, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 480 Points needed |

| Slide~Please note that I changed the title~
The whole thing about the fire was very real in this area right now~Here is dry West Texas there has been little rain and lots of wind. Thus making the perfect conditions for wild fires. There have been several towns that have literally been leveled by fire. It is very sad!
There are all kinds of stories about people losing everything and it is truly sad.
Having said that all I can say is that this is one of the main reasons I want to get rid of extra stuff~it's a fire hazzard.

| Well, once everyone was out, including my 4 legged's too, my pocketbook would be the one thing I would want to take with me.
The other things would probably be the pic I have of my mother and my grandfather's banjo. | | | | | Super Moderator Level up: 40%, 89 Points needed |

| I guesss the reason I said "if you had 10 minutes..." is because like Patricia, if it was a fire, I would get Slidette out and the heck with everything else | | | | | Moderator Points: 23,368, Level: 66 | Level up: 67%, 132 Points needed |

| Well I would certainly make sure my family including my pets were all safely outside, and my purse is on the way to grab. We keep important papers in a metal box that I also keep in our deepfreeze. That was something I grew up with,my parents told me if there was something I couldnt bare to loose to make sure it was in the box as well, so there are also a few pics. As Patricia said you cant take away memories they are instilled forever.
