We are thinking of making no-sew fleece scarves with our 4th grade Girl Scout troop. We've found a couple ways of making these: 1 is with a wide piece of fleece, fold it over, cut fringe all around and then tie the top piece to the bottom piece. The second is take 1 strip of fleece (no folding over required) cut fringe on the ends and then tie a knot in each piece of the fringe, with the knot at the top of the tassle. The 2nd way takes less fabric and there is less to tie, but the tying of the knots might be difficult for the girls without the 2 pieces to tie together; I even have trouble getting knots where I want them to go when I'm only dealing with one piece of fabric. Is there a trick?
Below is a link to an example of a fleece scarf made the second way. How can I help the girls get all the knots where they're supposed to go? Hope this is clear enough....
