Default Recliner Arm Covers
Old 12-29-2008, 02:54 PM   #1 (permalink)

My husband has a recliner with large arm rests on it. It is a leatherlike material. Can't spell it but something like Naugahyde. The arms have splits in it from use and from the cat. I want to make some type of cover that will protect the arms. Something that will not keep slidding off. Does anyone know of a pattern for something like this? Any suggestions appreciated.

The only thing that comes to mind is that nonskid material that is used under the kitchen mats. They sell them by the roll at the dollar store. crochet a large rectangle and weave in a slipstick around the edges to hold it in place.

Ha~looooo Ladyhobo ....U have not stopped by The angel group:( miss ya But; To see if I can give some help on covers for chair arms #1 It would be nice if you had a pic of the problem chair #2 that kitchen matting... Made a mess of my brand new wood table topI had used 2 strips about 4X8 to keep a plastic table cloth for protection and its rubber glue is embedded in to my table It looks like its going to have to be refinished IAM SICK OVER IT :( Anyway I have a leather recliner even though its new and my cat wont even try to get up in it even to sit with me but the few times she has she is so so gen~tal ? but I would think at the fabric store u could get some sticky velcro and some real soft leather fabric of your choice ? and cut to fit the area that needs covering and then u can take off to replace.... or they do sell little spirel buttons that (will make sm pin size hole)... to put through material and chair then you could use softer material..... or ? well let us know what u think if this helps maybe i can make a pic and copy an put on here of what I am talking about I have the spril buttons on my husbands chair (although his is soft weaved upostrey.......ok I sure hope this helps ByE carol
