Default Satin ribbon help needed
Old 08-12-2008, 12:53 AM   #1 (permalink)

I'm making streamers with 1/2 inch satin ribbon. I need some ideas for the ends of the streamers to keep them from unraveling. I need to be able to wash them. I've tried a couple of the fabric glues but they end up shiny and take forever to dry. I'm hoping I can find a waterproof one with a matte finish. Any ideas?

I just singe the ends, but be careful.

You can use fray check or simply melting the ends with a lighter to seal the ends.

I singe the ends the old-fashioned way with a candle to seal them.

I always use my hot glue gun for my ribbon ends. I'm just not sure if the ends would hold up being washed.
