Mica Powder Question |

I'd like to rub some mica powder onto a painted table top prior to adding a polyurethane coat. I think I need a medium in which to distribute the powder. I thought a neutral was would be a great way to add the powder to the table top, but I'm betting that this would not work with the polyurethane I want to finish with. I don't want to add the powder to the poly itself as I want to spread the powder to kind of "get caught" on the edges of stenciled paint designs. I'm not sure I'm explaining this too well . . .
Does anyone have any other ideas that might be compatible with the polyurethane?
