i need to know what you all think .... what is the best way to put on an invite that there is to be no alcohol at a party
i know the party is a yr away yet but we will be having my dd#3 grad party and dh surprise 50th party and welll his side like to drink a little to much i want it to be a fun time
me and hubby rarely drink christmas is about it 1/2 cup champanie in punch lol
anyways i would like your advice on how to word on invite that his family will know that there is no alcohol and they are not to bring any either because i know they will want too
when growing up we had partys and we did it without and had so much fun and we have decided that we dont drink and if we do and the kids are around how to do it resonsibley to set good exampel for them
so that is my prob if any one has any advice i would love to hear it
I personally do not see anything wrong or inappropriate about stating on the invitation that this is an "Alcohol Free" party (That is alcohol free NOT free alcohol). It is your party and you will have minors in attendance. I think it is great that you want to set this example and I think people will respect that. If they don't, it's their loss and they will miss out on a great party!! Good Luck!

There is always the legal angle also. Here, you are responsible for all the young people that drink and drive or whatever. They are really cracking down. It's about time!

I would just put on the invites that this is a non alcoholic party or write no alcohol please minors will be attending everyone should understand that you will be having minors there which you will be
responsable for.

thanks ladies great ideas i just hope i can get the family to understand that after the grad party(which will prob be from 1pm to 5pm) is hubbys bday party(5pm till when ever) so they dont think after the kids leave they can drink i know the families comming from idaho drink lots they dont celebrate anything without it and some family from here in wisconsin either are the same way too if they dont come there loss but it is there oldest brother turning 50 they came out for his 40th but i was just dating hubby then his mom planned that one ....so i know what is comming
if some one does bring alcohol what is the best way to deal with them on not drinking it at our house any suggestions
I think I would tell them it is a no no. If they brought it anyway, they either can't read or they are testing you to see what you would do. Show them that you meant it.
Hi, You could call it an old fashioned soda pop party. We did this once for a Halloween party and had everyone bring a bottle of their favorite soda. Some of the kids liked to mix them to see what they got. You could even do a theme party with it. Hope this helps.
