Default I need some help

I'm trying to make handmade heating pads. Does anyone knwo what I could use inside that won't mekt or draw bugs?
I'm trying to make them for the Vets at the hospital.

well I did a google search and this was the first thing to pop up ~ I was surprised
Make a great heat pack for a quarter. - Instructables - DIY, How To, home, sports
I believe these use a silicone bead for the inside though ~

I always use long grain rice in the ones I make. I make them for family members and also for myself. I use the old jeans, cut to the size I need and just fill with rice and 3 minutes in the microwave and it stays warm for a while.

I always use rice as well. But I don't have a spacific kind that I use.

Yea rice, oats, wheat husks. I have never had a problem with bugs in the ones I have been given?

I want to make some for Christmas gifes this year!!

I really like the instructable site lots of things to learn there.I have never made a heat pad ,but I have received a few as gifts and they all have rice in them.Have had no problem with bugs in them and they work great.
