Help! I don't know where to post this, but Please Help!

I want to make hall passes (I am a teacher) out of plexiglass, ribbon etc. Here is what I would do: 1. cut plexiglass into shape 2. put some adhesive chalkboard and stickers on one side with my destination painted on the chalkboard 3. put another plexiglass on top and trim the two with ribbon to prevent sharp edges. I would like to then paint something clear over the ribbon so that it could be sealed in and easily cleaned. What would I paint over it?

I would sand the edges smooth and leave the ribbon un sealed then it could be washed at the end of the day would only take as much time as washing it down ~ just an idea .
I would think you would need a waterproof sealer ~ Hope someone else can help sorry ~
