| Hi Kat
welcome to the CC, I'm not sure what you mean by the "Altered" type?
I make jewellery and use many different things, with buttons and watch faces and such!! Is that what you are meaning??
If you have some pictures for me to see I could tell you how it was made.
I wont be around till monday, but would be happy to help you out next week if you like.
If you go up top of the screen and you will see a header saying community and an arrow, click on that and you will see crafters groups, click on that and you will see a group called Canadian beaders, click on that!! Have a look a the pictures there and you will see some pins that I made from old buttons and watch parts. Very easy to make!!
Find a site or somepictures for me to see what you are wanting to make and I will see what I can do to help you!!

| I just started making pendants with small wood pieces and dominos. It is a lot of fun.
I just print of what I want for the picture(copyright free as well I purchased some just that size and printed them from the computer), I then trim them and coat them with a triple glaze I got from a supplier call stockade, I do several coats. Once dry I then add a bail or just bead through the holes if there is one. If you add a bail all you do is take a nail file and rough the back surface of the domino add a little crazy glue or something strong like that and attach the bail. Then use anything from ribbon to chain to hang from.
I like doing micro slides as well. You can create small pieces of art and put it between the glass pieces then solder it or you can get wonderful little frames that way you just slip the glass in the frame and close it, string it with something and you have a cute little pendant.
I will try and post some pics this weekend if I can of some of the ones I made.
Smiles n hugs

| Well Kat you will need to get a few tools for these types of jewellery making.
You will need a small drill, I have both a drumel and a hand or finger drill. You should also get a small pair of jewellery grade pliers(micheals carries these).
I use a glue called E6000 or Goop. I don't find that crazy glue lasts, it dries out and the jewellery will fall apart.
You can find a lot of the supplies at the $ store for now. Pick up chain, jump rings asstorted sizes.
The bottle caps I have done with the E6000. I decided what I want in the cap and add it in layers with the glue and the items untill I have the look I want then, if I want it to be a pendent I add a twised piece of wire with a loop at the end and stick in in the glue at the top sectiona dn just let it all dry. once gry add a jump ring and chain!!! I did a cute one with small shells and a wire fish!!
As for dominos depending on what you want to make like a bracelet, it will depend on which way you want to attach them, end to end or sdie by side, either way you will need a drill.
I'm sure there are lots of toutorials out there!! | | | Hugs!!
