Hi everyone,
I'm new around here but though maybe someone out there might be able to help me.
I am looking for craft ideas using old house keys. I've done a search of the net but couldn't really find much and what I did find wasn't very inspiring.
I need it for my Church's Ladies Fellowship group.
All ideas readily accepted.
Blessings

This is an altered key idea I ran across.
I think these are really neat.
Embellished Altered Keys Tutorial
What about making something like a small wind chime. You could use a small tuna can with holes punched in and hang the keys at different lengths. You could paint the can or leave it to take on a natural state with the elements. Could hang the keys with ribbons, wire, or jute.
Not sure if this is what you are looking for just a thought.

The first thing that came to mind was the magic Santa Claus keys.
These are like an ornament that you simply hang the key on ribbon and attach a poem(which I will have to look up) it's goes somehting like this!!
Dear Santa here is a Magic key that will help you get into the house since we don't have a chimney for you to come down.
You can hang it outside on the door knob, but you must remember to hang it on the tree where the kids will find it in the morning!!!
I was just thinking since it was a church group, you could make a poem up about being " The key to Jesus or Gods heart" or wisdom, or soul, etc.!!
A nice ribbon, paint them if you wish, with a little poem!!!!
Hope this helps!!!
Now I'm upset cause I passed up 2 bags of house keys at a yard sale on the weekend!!!!!LOL
I was just able to view the altered keys and they are great!! (I 'm on dial up)
The fancy things she uses are at the $store, and so is the chain, beads and some of the embelishments!!
She is very creative!!
