What type of wire to use

I want to make Angel wings from wire...what gauge, type of wire is best . The angel will be approx 6 inches in length. Also does anyone have a pattern for making wire wings.
We make 300-400 angels so I need a simple pattern. To purchase wire wings is not in our budget! I would be greatly appreciative for any help given ....

If you want a cheap wire that will work for this go to the Dollar store and get the kind used in the hardwear or garden section, as for a pattern....Hummmmm I just play with the wire till I get the shape I like!! I think it would be ok if all are different, but near the same size!! An easy way to keep them about the same siz is to cut the same length of wire and create a figure 8 and shape from there!! It may take a bit of fiddling as to what size, but once you are sure, cut the wire all the same size and work from there!!
