Default what's the best way to glue ribbon?

Hi all - I am working on DIY wedding favors for my July wedding. I am giving guests cookies at the end of the night, which will be boxed in white gift boxes which I plan to wrap with colorful ribbon and glue a monogram label atop the ribbon. What's the best way to afix the ribbon to the box so that the ribbon doesn't become bunched up or fall off? Some type of craft glue? Hot glue gun? Double sided tape? What do you think? Thanks in advance for any recommendations!:)

I always used double sided tape. It worked for me.

I use Aleene's Craft Glue or A Glue Stick...
