Do you mean like knitting or crocheting an item then washing it? I have not done this yet but there are sites out there to help with this. You could Google felting and a lot should come up.

OMG! You are so lucky to have an alpaca. I have always wanted to learn how to spin fur (wool) into yarn and had considered getting an angora bunny just for that reason but we already have a dwarf bunny and my DH would not have been too happy. This is one thing you can do with the fur, though.

Another thing is felting and boy I bet you would get some quality felt from an alpaca. I have wanted to try this but unfortunately, have no roving and no where around me to access any unless I order through internet. Basically you need a foam mat and a felting needle to get started. You can do a search under "needle felting" on internet and this will help you get familiar with how to do it. I hope you let us know how it works out because I'm very interested. Here's a link to help get you started: How to Needle Felt - wikiHow
