Arrow Making silicone molds....
Old 10-30-2007, 02:43 PM   #1 (permalink)

 I am wondering if anyone has done this and if it is easy, hard, or if you would just recommend buying one from a professional! Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Tara,

Making silicone molds is easy. The product comes in two parts that you mix together like softening clay. Once the two are mixed together you push into the silicone what ever you want your mold to be or form the silicone mixtere half around an object. With both choices you let the silicone set for required time and you have a permanant mold to use over and over.

Here is an addy you can order a free catalog of silicone plastique www.makeyourownmolds.com

Tara,

I was just playing around with the molds I made. Tried something new with them. I sqirted hot glue into the molds. It's a small one about the size of a quarter. After I sqirted in the hot glue I put the mold in a dish of cold water. The item dries quickly and comes out clear. After that I brush on craft varnish. They make great embelishments. When you are ready to put them on a project use hot glue to adhere them.

Default molds

milli - Wow!!! I KNOW I will be in trouble if I start this! I really like the chocolate molds and the possibilities off that website you sent. Do we ever have time to do all these wonderful things??? I feel a tantrum coming on!

Seriously, though, it really makes sense to have your own materials and molds. I think they are indestructible!

Tara
