Or is this community rather slow to load? I joined awhile ago and love all the info and friendly folk here. But I stopped coming because it take so darn long to open up forums, then threads, and post as well. Is it just me? Or is it like this for everyone? I have DSL and fast computers, so it just doesn't seem like it could just be me. And if it's not, is there a way to speed it up? I'd like to hang out here more, but it's kind of hard when it take so long to read anything, let alone post.
Seems slow for me as well. I'm on a dinky dial-up account but of all the forums I belong to, this one seems to take a lot longer to load.
I do think that part of the reason for that is the generosity of allowing graphics in the signatures but that shouldn't be impacting the main forums page and other areas like what I'm seeing.
This is the only community I have a problem with speed on. Like I said, I have DSL, so I'm used to fairly fast load times. It just doesn't happen here. Could be all the Google ads and extra features on the left; could be a need to archive and/or clean up older posts. Not sure. I will try to stick it out though. :)
I don't have that problem but I stopped using the site much because of my personal situation not allowing me the time. Since then I have been plagued with regular emails from the site asking me to come back. Which is nice the first couple of times but when they continued I tried to block them and find them unblockable because of the type of address they use. I have contacted the webmaster and asked them to stop sending the emails but still they come. I am afraid it has left rather a sour taste for me about a site that I used to enjoy and would possibly have enjoyed again when time permits.
Is it Just Me?
