How to grubby?

Can anyone tell me a good way to scent and grubby up paper tags?

Have you tried using instant coffee? It's my all time favorite! Slightly wet the paper with a brush or damp cloth, sprinkle some instant coffee over it and for the effect, dab over the coffee with your finger or a cotton ball. Not too much, you don't want to spoil the effect!
