Default Can someone please help
Old 08-04-2004, 05:05 PM   #1 (permalink)

I have been making ragballs dipped in wax. A friend that I work with used to make candles and tarts and she gave me a bunch of the ones she had left over. I am out now and was wondering if anyone knew a good candle company that has votives I could use for this. I just make them for family and friends and my little sis is getting ready to head for Purdue next weekend. She can't have candles and wanted me to make her some to make her dorm smell good. I have looked at Ben Franklin, Wal-Mart, and Micheals to make my own candles but they do not have all of the supplies I need. I bought some at Micheals but they didn't turn out very strong and they were pretty expensive. I have also tried Yankee votives but they didn't turn out all that strong either. I was thinking if I could just find oil to soak them in they would be really strong! There isn't very many craft stores around here (southern IN) so if anyone knows of any please let me know. My husband is really weird about me purchasing anything on the net so I'm just out of luck. I know this should probley be on the candle forum but you all always seem so helpful and AppleAnnie is totally the crafting queen!!! Didn't know if any of you go to that board so thats why it's posted here

HERE'S A THOUGHT...WHAT IF YOU WOULD BUY VOTIVES , LETS SAY IN AN APPLE SCENT (JUST AS AN EXAMPLE) MELT THEM DOWN AND ADD SOME APPLE SCENTED OIL TO THE WAX TO MAKE THEM SMELL STRONGER. WALMART HAS SMALL BOTTLES OF ESSENTIAL OILS HANGING ON PEGS ABOVE THE POTPOURRI. YOU COULD ALSO BUY UNSCENTED CANDLES AND SCENT THEM WITH WHAT YOU WANT AND AS STRONG AS YOU WANT.
