The kids will have fun making their own Easter egg decorations.
Supplies needed:
Small balloons
Craft glue
Thin cotton yarn
Thin ribbon (optional)
Newspaper
Waxed paper
Clothespins
Clothes hangers
Directions:
For each egg, blow up a balloon to 6 to 8 inches.
Cut twenty 3-ft long strands of cotton yarn.
Mix equal parts of glue and water in shallow container (disposable).
Cover your work area with newspaper and then a sheet of waxed paper.
Hold and dip one end of the strand of yarn into the glue mixture, then wrap it around the balloon. Repeat with other strands, overlapping and tucking loose ends until the balloon is evenly covered.
After sufficiently covering, attach the clothespin to the end and hang from the clothes hanger overnight to dry. (Make sure you place newspaper under hangers in case glue drips!)
Next day, the egg should be dried. Pop a hole in the balloon, pull it away from the string as it deflates.
Use a ribbon or yarn to hang egg. |
