Default Doll swap poll
Old 02-21-2008, 02:52 PM   #1 (permalink)

What type of doll swaps would you be interested in doing?

Are you interested in making full size cloth dolls?
Would you prefer pindolls because they take less time and cost less to make and mail?
Do you prefer doing dolls for the different holidays?
Are you interested in making dollhouse furniture?
Are you interested in making dollhouse accessories suck as bed quilt, pillows, candlesticks, rugs etc?
What size dolls do you prefer, pindoll, 12-14 inches, fullsize 16 inches and over?
St. Patricks Day is coming would you sign up to do a pindoll?
Easter is coming would you sign up to make a bunny/rabbit or chicken/duck?

Also if you have some ideas please post what they are.
Also someone mentioned that the last swap it was their first clothdoll , she beads them. There is no where that says our dolls have to be cloth so if we do another pindoll she could certainly bead hers.

I took part in the current Doll Challenge and really got into it. The challenge served as a motivator to get me going because I find making cloth dolls can be really time-consuming. Our doll is 18". My daughter also helped me stuff her and we enjoyed spending the time together so I it was fun! Swaps are definitely much easier when pursuing smaller items to make. Since St. Patrick's Day and Easter are just around the corner, I wouldn't be able to sign up to do the swaps but would have loved to. How about a Summer swap of some sort? I love to crochet. How about a crochet swap? Hmmm...I'll keep thinking.

I love making full size cloth dolls as you know Meg,but I think for the swaps pin dolls are a great idea. And I would sign up for a Easter.or St. Patty's Day pin swap.As far as doll furniture that really does not interest me that much. But when it comes to cloth dolls I am up for a swap of full size or pins either one.

Myself I prefer to do the pindolls for swaps because they take less time and dont cost alot to mail. The last full size doll cost me over $20 to mail so wont be doing that again.

I mentioned the furniture because the title of this board is doll and dollhouses and wasnt sure if anyone was interested in that or not.

Meg

I prefer the pindolls myself mainly because of the cost of postage and it is going up again in the states in May.

This is new to me, I think it would be fun no matter what kind of doll is made. Would like to know more how it works

I would love to do a doll swap but I only make the full size bed dolls...the 13" dolls and the dress is crocheted...

Smiles & Hugs...
