German choclate sandwich cookies

1 3/4 cup flour

1 1/2 cup sugar

3/4 cup oleo

3/4 teas baking soda

1/4 teas salt

2 eggs

2 tab. milk

1 teas. vanilla

1/2 cup chopped nuts..pecans or walnuts

combine flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk and vanilla. beat at medium speed till blended. stir in nuts. batter will be stiff. form into balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheet 9 to 11 minutes at 350. cool and spread 1 heaping teaspoon of filling and top with second cookie to make sandwich.

1/2 cup oleo

1/2 cup brown sugar1/4 cup light corn syrup

1 cup coconut

1 cup chopped nuts 1 teas. vanilla

melt oleo in saucepan and add brown sugar and syrup. stir till thick and bubbly. remove from heat, stir in coconut, nuts and vanilla.

you can also use duncan hines coconut pecan icing.
