| I am attaching a photo of the Rice Krispie bunny and treat nests center piece I made last year. It was a hit at the family get-together on Easter so I will be making it again this year. I just used Cocoa Krispies and made the regular recipe for Rice Krispie bars...it took 3-4 batches. (If I remember right, I ran out and used regular Rice Krispies and added a few chocolate chips to the marshmellows as they were melting and that worked as well). It's best to make the batches one at a time and work with the mix when it has cooled enough to handle. You will have to coat your hands with a little butter or non-stick spray. For the nest cups I molded them around the bottom of a glass that I had lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. When you form the bunny body, it's almost like making a snowman...applying pressure to form the shapes....just make a large round ball for the body, a smaller one for the head, then two oblong arms and form ears and attach with tooth picks or skewers. I used the colored frosting in a tube from the cake decorating section of the grocery store for decorating. Also cut a black jelly bean in half for the eyes and a pink one for the nose, use black licorice for whiskers. I also tinted coconut with green tint for the grass on the tray around the nests. Cute huh? |
