I am looking to use thread for crocheting dresses for my girls. I need cotton only due to skin issues. I can't find any pattern books about it nor any free patterns online.
What am I doing wrong? Am I not typing in the right thing to google? any info would be greatly appreciated.
I realize it's been a while since you asked this and you've hopefully found what you were looking for by now. On the off chance that you haven't, I suspect your searching for something that people don't make specifically.
Most patterns that use crochet cotton are for doilies or dishcloths. I would search for something like "free crochet pattern girl's dress".
You might have to do a bit of trial and error with the yarn weight and make a few swatches to determine if you might need to use more than one strand of your cotton thread/yarn.
Good luck.

Here's a link for a short sleeved shirt for an adult with thread motiffs.A Short Sleeve Crochet Top. Doing motiffs and then joining them in a certain way for a child's jumper might work. Also, if you click into the "crochet for kids" it explains how to make a dress for a child using various size crochet thread. I love the delicate look of crocheted thread.
Thank you both so much! No one replied and looked at so many different things and well life happens so I had to put it on the back burner as I just couldn't figure out where to look. Great suggestions thank you!
I found a crochet book wieth a girls drss in it. I will look it up and get back to you. I can't remember if it was thread or yarn. It was a cute dress. It was in layers.
