| I had mentioned a craft that I purchased years ago (we're talking 1970's, Folks!) at a private craft show/party. Try to get a visual on this one: An old fashioned-shaped cutting board (the kind that has a hole in the handle so it can be hung on a wall). Glued around two sides is a little whisk-broom kind of doll (tiny, not regular sized), a miniature cheese grate, miniature rolling pin - you can decorate with any mini utensil, of course.
The following is a poem that is on paper that is burnt around the edges and decoupaged onto the board:
HOUSEWIVES' PRAYER
by F. Moore
Dear Lord, give me the patience
That I need from day to day
To keep my kitchen tidy.
Help me do these things, I pray:
Dirty dishes off the table
The crumbs swept out the door
The meals all served with promptness
Whether there by six or more;
The silverware's all polished,
Pots and pans are kept from sight -
This is really too much trouble, Lord.
We'll eat out again tonight! |
