My Rich made a coffee table once. Did a good job too. It had a glass top to it. When DS#2 was a toddler, he set a juice glass (yes, I said glass) down on it a tad bit too hard and..... "crash". That was the end of the glass top. Still have the table, but it has no top so it's in storage. DH made it when he was laid off from work and was going stir crazy with nothing to do all day. It was a good project.
I have a quilt rack (similar) that DH's dad made for us a long time ago. No quilts on it, but lots of afghans and blankets. He's gone now and so it has lots of sentimental meaning for us. He was a pretty good woodworker. Made us a china hutch too.
