A Note About Pattern Sharing!

I need to ask you all to please refrain from asking for the patterns for items that are posted here in pictures.
There have been some sites shut down for copyright infringement! We want to keep Crafters Community around forever!
If you don't think they won't get us....look at the music and movie industry and all the trouble they're going to, to keep music downloaders from getting music without paying for it!
So please do not post asking for the pattern.

Tammy, I didn't understand all the fine print about patterns, especially patterns on the internet, until I wanted to sell stuff. Then I started noticing things like "do not sell this pattern or any item made from this pattern". Maybe there's someone here who sells their patterns who could tell us what we should be carefull of.
Also, don't be afraid to ask where the pattern came from. If you have a link or store, share it. It will keep pattern writers working.

Most all patterns are copyrighted. No sharing allowed....now what you do in private is up to you, but since forums are a public setting and anyone can join, we need to not share those patterns.

Are the patterns shown here not for us to print out? I have tried to print the Cozy Coaster pattern and it says that it is forbidden. The pattern is right there I just cannot print it out why?

It is the Cozy Coaster pattern that is on the blog. It shows the coaster and even has the little icon that says print this but when I try it says that it is forbidden.

Tammy I think that it is listed under coasters but am not sure. Might know the pattern that I want I cannot print out. I have been linked back to the Crafters Community by other sites for this pattern and still could not get the pattern I thought that it was a pattern that some member put up for members to print out.

Brenda, I think then, it's an issue with the blog. It might not be there anymore and they haven't taken the link out. I'll look and see if I can find it and see what the problem could be.

When we buy kits from craft stores can we share those patterns as long as we show that it was a kit we bought? I've gotten patterns from kits before since they sell teh kit with pattern isn't it available for anyone to use.:confused:

I make paper piecings all the time, it that something ok, as long as it's not copied from a copyrighted picture? Seems like that's ok right? Let me know if not.
