My finished painted pot
Your welcome Sharon.
Day 1
Today you need to paint the pot two coats and seal it.
Prepare items for tomorrow, cut styrofoam ball into two, cut a piece of fabric about 6inches by 6inches and the same for batting, thread needle and we are all set for tomorrow. Day 2
Round the corners of the batting and fabric squares .You may have to use your own judgement on fabric size once you do the stitching part you can also trim if its too large, the batting is glued onto the flat side so if too large its fine. I used the glue gun and squeezed it over the ball than layed the batting over it and glued edges to the flat side of ball. Then I took the needle and thread and basted around the fabric piece which I also rounded the corners on, set the ball in center with flat side up pull thread to make yoyo and glue to hold in center. Put glue around outside edge of ball or inside edge of pot and put padded fabric ball onto the pot. I am adding pictures incase I didnt not explain very well.
Here are the pictures showing the steps for Day 2, any problems just post.

Today you finish your project which if you havent figured out is a pincushion. Use whatever you have to embellish. I used pearl strands and glued around edge of pot. I used buttons and ribbon roses, ric rac, trim with beads. I have three examples, one I use a ribbon embroidery top. Hope you like your new pincushion. |
