Spyware- Winfixer/WinAntivirus

This is the second time since I got my new puter that I have been infected with Winfixer. Now, I know that there are a multitude of help forums for spyware all over the net. I used to go to GeeksToGo.com for help, but lately they get so bogged down with other users' problems, and by the time they get around to me I'm pulling my hair out.



Can someone tell me how to finally get rid of Winfixer, or point me in the direction of a good help forum that won't ask me to download a bunch of programs that I'm not sure about?

Have you tried Ad-aware SE. It is a free download which we use for pop ups and what not. I am still reading the info on this Winfixer just haven't had a lot of time today.

Yep, I tried Adaware, didn't kill it. I found a site that has a program called VundoFix, and that seemed to have killed it.... so far.





I just wish I knew where this $*@#^ comes from!!!!





Winfixer and WinAnitvirus are what they call "rogue" antispyware... it detects useful files as spyware on your computer, and installs other spyware/adware/junkware on your computer, and it is known to remove important components.... it is pretty dangerous.
