ALERT VIRUS ZOTOB.A

I just received the lastest update on this Malicious Software Worm.



Worm: Win32/Zotob.A is a network worm that exploits the Plug and Play vulnerablilty fixed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-039. The worm targets computers running Microsoft Windows 2000 that do not have MS05-039 installed. The worm can also infect computers running other versions of Windows operating systems if it is delivered through e-mail, instant messaging, or other routes.

Did you all hear??? CNN, ABC, CAT International (the people that make those big huge bulldozers and such) and one of the big New York City newspapers along with a bunch of other companies, all got hit with the virus.

hhhmmmmm me wonders how many IT people will be looking for jobs this morning???

I wonder sometimes what this world is coming to. Nothing seems to be safe anymore.



It was posted on Monday morning on my norton update, but the question I have is how long was in the systems before the found it and notified the public.



These big companies that got the virus makes me wonder too. You would think they would have all the newest tech to catch all this. Makes you wonder too who is doing this. To get help with mirco soft anymore (to talk to a human that is) can cost you any where from 45.00 up to over 350.00 depending on what program you are running. I have windows 2000 XP and it costs 350.00US for them to talk to me about a problem I am having with their software, but if I would like to purchase the other deal which allows me I think five phone calls it is only 1500.00US a savings of 250.00. I don't think so.



It has become routine at home that before I go to bed I run all virus scans and downloads. On dial up that can take forever, but since we got that last virus I not taking anymore chances and it seems every night I have anywhere from four to 12 to get rid of.
