I am a twig bender from Kentucky. When I bought my first computer it did not leave me any money to hire someone to make a web site for me. It didn't leave much money for computer programs. I found a FREE program that let me build my own web site without learning HTML code. It is a WYSIWYG, "what you see is what you get" program. I had a web site up in no time. I started out with Netfirms a company that offers FREE web hosting. I now use a company that charges $7.00 per month with free domain registration. I use 3 companies to take credit cards and checks online, I pay no monthly fees, just a small percentage of the sale.
All you need is the free program, a digital camera, and a little time and you can have your own web site.
I have two business online now. Take a look at my web sites and let me know what you think.
A few things I have learned: Don't put music on your site, it annoys people, if they want music they will turn on the radio.
Avoid animations, it annoys people. Avoid cutesie graphics, it annoys people. Make your site easy to get around in, put the most important information on the first page. Make it simple.
Let me know if I can help.
