i helped out a friend and drove her to columbus today and while she was giving her talk, i walked through a part of the city that has a lot of galleries/giftshops/ bistros/ etc - many of the galleries were closed today, but i went into this wonderful collective and one of the artists there does polyclay figures - she calls them custom portraits and sells them as busts or mounted on suede and framed in a protective plexiglass shadowbox. these were absolutely incredible - she had a website listed on her card, but there is none of her art there in pix, so i used my digi to take a pix of her sculpture that is on her info card. you cannot believe how lifelike and amazing these figures are - all dressed and all that. this pix will not do her work justice, but if ou are ever in columbus, ohio stop in at the studios on high at 686 n. high street and see the display by carol hershey. i am sending her an email and if she sends me any pix, i will post for you. i was quite blown away - this is a bad photo of one of her busts of a couple for their anniversary
