I have some ideas on the books that you might need for the embrodiery on paper. You can find a good book with patterns on Amazon. Com by Erica Fortgens and it's called Creative Embroidery on Paper, it runs about $11.00 I think but if you order it from her site then it'll cost more and you won't get it as quick as if you order from Amazon. ALso you should be able to find a book at AC Moore crafts or Michaels Crafts. Haven't tried Jo-annes. If you ask someone in their store they won't know what you are talking about so you have to look yourself. Look near the supplies with the srcapbooking. That is usually where I find them. Also, with a word of advice, do not buy kits for the type of thing. Their directions aren't very clear unless you really know what you are doing.
I did buy a kit form Eric Fortgens site , it had 5 cards with envelopes and the directions were very hard to understand. I put the cards on my scanner and made duplicates of them and made my own envelopes. I won't buy any more kits tho. I like the rayon thread for these cards but hard to find. I found some veragated rayon in Vegas this winter and really makes the cards when you do them. There aren't many sites that will give you patterns . I found cardcreations but it's only the christmas ones. Try out Craft Creation magazine. I get some patterns from there. Hope I have helped you some. I found out about this craft along with teabag folding while in Vegas at a campground this winter. Have been doing it since. |
