Default color changing candles - what's the secret?
Old 11-29-2006, 09:00 AM   #1 (permalink)

Ok, I've recently seen these on TV commercials, and I just gotta know... what makes them change colors? I thought maybe there was one of those color changing LED lights embedded in the bottom, but the colors only change when the wick is lit. When you blow it out, they stop. Curiosity killed the cat, I know... but I just gotta know what makes these things work!

Has anyone else seen these?

"Our candles have an L.E.D. (Light Emitting Diode) chip at the base of each candle. When the wick is lit, an optical sensor embedded inside the candle relays a signal to the chip which in turn produces unique color changes within the candle every few seconds. Once you light the wick, the candle will change colors until you blow it out."

that was from the website
