Default Candle Tip
Old 08-19-2004, 06:30 PM   #1 (permalink)

A girl my Mom works with makes her own candles. These candles are the strongest I have ever bought!!! One of her tarts will still smell strong after 30+ hours! These are great. Since I've been starting to make my own she gave me a tip to hold the scent in. She said to use 1Tbsp. of Crisco for every pound of wax. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to tonight. Has anyone else tried this? Sounds weird but by the quality of her products she knows what she's talkin about. I'll let you all know how they turn out.

Well I tried it tonight and they turned out great!!! The cold throw is amazing!!! I'm not experienced by no means but I have bought a lot of different brands of candles, I mostly buy tarts but the ones I made tonight are one of the best. I don't mean to toot my own horn as my Mamaw would say LOL but they really turned out great and I have to say I'm proud of myself. However, this is my first attempt with a quality fragrance so I am sure that has a lot to do with it. I really hope some of you try this out so we can see if it is the crisco or not. They did have a little shrinkage but not much I'm not sure if it's the oil I used or the crisco but they still look great as well.
