Default Painting on candles?????
Old 12-06-2003, 05:15 PM   #1 (permalink)

Hi fellow craft buddies,

I`ve been trying to paint some candles for a friend.I bought the candle medium and mixed it with the acrylic paint like it says.I took a sponge and (sponged, for lack of better term) the whole candle ,let it dry then came back to paint some designs. When I touched the cottonpickin` thing the paint came off on my fingers where I had touched it.What the heck am I doing wrong? And I really would like ya`lls input on some great ideas on painting them or maybe some web sites you think would have some ideas...ya`ll are the GREATEST!

I have been decorating and making candles for along time and I too have had this problem. I have no idea what I am doing wrong either. I have had success by letting the paint dry , not touching it then spraying it will a sealer. But you have to be very careful because it marked it will peel off. Is it the paint medium or something we are doing wrong . I have had good and bad luck with this.
