| Any type of oilbased scent can be used but remember to experiment ALOT. Some scents especially some true essential oils smell differently, some smell just plain awful when mixed with wax and heated LOL
Also many oils not specifically made for candlemaking may smell strong at first when the candle is newly made but slowly will lose its scent.
Do not use any oils that are added to a carrier base like massage oils, those are bad because they add unwanted chemicals to your wax which can cause a yucky candle!
Scents are probably the most expensive part of candlemaking but if you have never experimented with the craft you might be better off buying a few scents that are specifically created for candlemaking just to be on the safe side.
I personally have tried a few essential oils in my candles and were only really happy with a few. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. |
