Default Reusing candle jars
Old 01-04-2003, 12:56 PM   #1 (permalink)

Hi everyone! Does anyone have a quick and easy way to clean the old wax out of candle jars? I have some real pretty ones and would like to reuse the jars to make some new ones. Thanks for any help!

Dolphin,

I put them in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds. This warms up the leftover wax and you can wipe it out with paper towels. I then spray it with fantastik cleaner and it removes all the black soot.

Dolphin,, I just run hot water into the candle jars this sometimes helps to loosen the old wax and then just take the jar and turn it upside down. Sometimes I just keep water running in the jar until the wax loosens.

I turn my oven on low and I have a tin roaster that I set the candles on upside down. I leave em in til the jars are empty, then I run em through the dishwasher or rinse in hot soapy water.

Be sure to check the jars for cracks or chips!!!
