Default Christian Fiction Anyone?
Old 03-20-2008, 05:42 PM   #1 (permalink)

I enjoy christian fiction because more time is spent on the characters, their stories, thoughts, emotions, etc. Some of my favorite authors are Janette Oke, Dee Henderson, Francine Rivers, Michael Phillips, Judith Pella, and Penelope Stokes. I recently finished a book by Dee Henderson called The Healer. It is one in the O'Malley series and was great especially if you like mystery or suspense. The last book I read was A Dangereous Silence by Catherine Palmer. It, too, was an excellent read. Michael Phillips has series entitled the Shenandoah sisters which is excellent. It takes place at the time of the civil war. The daughter of a plantation owner is left orphaned as well as the daughter of a slave. The two girls find each other and learn to see past the outside and create their own family. These books are a wonderful read. Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly series is also excellent. All of her books are wonderful. The same is true of Francine Rivers. I am also finding this true of Penelope Stokes. I recently read one of hers called The Wishing Jar which spanned several generations of women and their faith. These are my recent reads. Anyone have any faves or other suggestions please don't be shy.

I love Christian Fiction also. My favorite books are the "left Behind" series by Lehaye and Jenkins. I too love Francine Rivers especially her "Mark Of The Lion" series. I have read all these more than once. Micheal Phillips "Rift in Time"is one of the best I have ever read. Brandilyn Collins writes exciting spinetingling mysteries. I have read many more books from individual authors too numerous to mention.

My mom has all the Left Behind books. I have a young adult series by Gilbery Morris called The Seven Sleepers. It's the only christian series I have read. I want to try reading the Narnia books again.

Love Christian Fiction.

My favorite writers are Lori Wick, Tracie Patterson, Lauranie Snelling....just off the top of my head. Haven't had time to read lately, though.

I try to do reviews of the books I have read on my blog, just something fun for me to do.

I too enjoy reading this type of books. In fact reading to me is just like a sleeping pill. I read everynight before bed and it makes me soooooo sleepy. Needless to say I don't get many books read. There is a website called paperbackswap.com that you can find almost any book possible and you don't have to pay for the book. If you list your book on this site you just have to pay the postage if anyone wants your book. I have a Janette Oke book listed here.
