| The series that I have been reading most recently is the Sue Grafton alphabet series. I like them because they aren't too gorey and are a nice easy read | | | | | Moderator Level up: 33%, 198 Points needed |

| Mary Higgins Clark! I love her stories. More suspense than mystery. Not gorey either and easy to read. | | | | | Moderator Level up: 23%, 215 Points needed |

| My latest book was #6 in a series by "Diana Gabaldon" called
"A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It is the latest of the Outlander Series and I loved it. Now this is not a book you should get unless you have read them from the first one called "The Outlander.
A little bit from the inside front page states. " A new Novel by Diana Gabaldon is always cause for celebration. And A Breath of Snow and Ashes. the eagerly anticipated sixth Outlander novel is no exception. In it, the award winning, New York Times bestselling author returns to the world of eighteenth-
century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his twentieth-century time-travelling wife,Clair Randell. In a powerful, unforgettable tale of love and war, vibrant history, and heart stopping adventure.
When I read the first one some years ago I was hooked and could hardly wait for the others to arrive back in the book stores.
It took me a lot longer to read this one than the first as I am much older and my eyes are finding it harder to read for long periods of time.
It was however great to be reading about Jamie and Clair again,it was like catching up with old friends you have not spoken to in a very long time. A lot of research goes into the books by Diana Gabaldon and I was glued to the pages for much longer than I would normally be these days.
I am sure there are other fans of hers out there.

| Slide if you get the chance to get a hold of the Outlander series, grab it and put them away if you must for a time when you can get into them.
I also like Mary Higgens Clark. I was a real book worm when I was a lot younger.
Now most of my books are self improvement and Spiritual, and instruction manuals, or how to books.

| <font size="3"><font color="teal"><font face="Arial">I use to read constantly but due to medication I now struggle at it as my eyes tear up and my concentration isnt there.
I have tons of books waiting to be read though and I do hope to read them one day soon.
Favorites are Nora Roberts, Mary HIggins Clark, James Patterson,Fern Michaels,C. Cookeson, Clive Cussler, Patrica Cornwell, Judith Michael
Jean my motherinlaw has that series I just couldnt bring myself to start it and worry about not finishing it but I do love that type of book full of historical romance.
I love mystery , historical romance, science anyone that likes to watch csi would like Patrica Cornwell and Kathy Reichs.
I guess I dont have a favorite as I have many favorites. I always told my boys that if you can dive into reading it will take you to another life. My son Adam reads alot, I always know what to buy him if the occasion arises , the next in a series or a bookstore giftcard. My husband is also an avid reader. Chris is the only one that doesnt he will read a magazine or the newspaper but not a book.

| Slide I did not forget you had a used book store, although I do forget so many things these days especially authors names. It annoys me when I can't come up with the names, and I feel like a fool. Both Al & I are having a time with remembering names.

Meg I do understand about the meds causing problems with your eyes and reading. I am on lots of them as well. I am also needing more sleep as I get older but don't sleep as well as I used to.
More shorter naps than a good nights sleep.
I sometimes come down here and turn this PC on and see what's happening around the globe.

| i love mary higgins clark as well........i dont have to think to hard to understand it........i hate when you have to reread a sentence and really deeply concentrate on a book. I like it to read easy, and hers does. I havent had time to read in quite a while, for pleasure that is........reading thru this forum makes me want to make a stop at the "quiet" library and take some ME time and just browse around, maybe sit and read the book a bit before checking it out and just DESTRESS!
Meg, have you thought about hitting the library and getting some books on tape. Wouldnt have to worry about your eyes tearing up..........you could even put on some little headphones and just go about your business listening to the book. just a thought! | | | | |
