The tree would be easier than the penguin as it's like making 3 small projects (3 cones) and putting it together, the tree should take around 2 hours (that is if you have done right angle weave before).
The penguin might take longer, around 4 hours.

If you have not done any right angle weave before try any of these two Snowflake first:
